I also make bamboo flutes and piccolos on commission. The largest I've ever made has been the very silly 1.4 metre (4'6") long flute named Splinter, in D; the smallest, the tiny E piccolo named Scar, both of which I use in performance. I can only make flutes with hole spacing appropriate for my hands to play, however; Splinter is simply a concert D and chastiser of unruly conductors.

I am told that my flutes have an unusually pure sound for futes of bamboo construction, while retaining the tonal impression of bamboo. But you can hear them for yourself at performance! ^_^
